Bill Hays

Bloomington - D. William "Bill" Hays, 69, of Bloomington, passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Park United Methodist Church in Bloomington with Pastor Keith Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington.

Bill was born on September 8, 1947 in Normal, a son of Delmar Leo and Mary F. Shelton Hays. He married Carolyn Sue Quinn on June 18, 1965 in Bloomington.

Surviving is his wife, Sue Hays of Bloomington; a daughter, Kim Kletz; daughter in-law, Cyndi Hays; son in-law, Troy Kletz; and grandchildren, Kevin Kletz, Holli Hays, Heather Kletz, Cassidy (Hayden) Hays-Kujala, Courtney Kletz, Caitlin Hays, and Megan Kletz; and a great grandson, Benjamin Hays.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bill Hays; grandson, A.J. Hays and two brothers, Bob Lettner and Jim Hays.

Bill loved his beloved companion, Spike, trips to the Lake of the Ozarks, boating, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was employed by Johnson Transfer and Ace World Wide.

Bill was a loving and caring husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend to all who knew him.
We will all miss him so much.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
