Donna King

Normal – Donna J. King, 81, of Normal, passed away at 9:21 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Her memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with Pastor Sally Hamon officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington.

Donna was born on January 16, 1940 in Normal, a daughter to Roland and Marie Brees Raydon. She married John F. King in August 1963 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington. He preceded her in death in 2015.

Surviving are her sons, Todd (Amy) King of Normal and Tim (Bunny) King of Bloomington; brother, Roger (Nellie) Raydon of Mapleton; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother.

A graduate of University High School, Donna was a Pioneer through and through, and remained active with the Class of 1958 Alumni Association. Having earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Illinois State, she was also a proud Redbird. She was a passionate traveler (especially Hawaii and her ancestral England) and especially enjoyed cooking and sewing. Her other loves were her cats and her Chicago Cubs.
