Gary Blum

Normal - Gary Blum, 69, of Normal, passed away at 6:49 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal.

His memorial service will be at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017 at St. Luke Union Church in Bloomington with Rev. Andy Gifford officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-5:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be made to ARC (Activity and Recreation Center) in Normal.

Gary was born on September 5, 1948 in Bloomington, a son to F. Wayne and Anne B. Crittenden Blum. He married Wanda Beshearse, the mother of his children. He later married Barbara Hodge.

Surviving are two sons, Jeff Blum of Murfreesboro, TN and Todd (Keri) Blum of LaVergne, TN; brother, Larry (Becky) Blum of Hudson; sister, Sharon Bower of Clinton, IA; grandchildren, Dustin, Bryce and Tyler Gillham and Tori and Hayden Blum, all of NC and niece, Emily Bower of Clinton, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judith Anne Blum and brother in-law, Paul Bower.

Gary was a local chef for many years, later retiring as a school bus driver for Unit 5.

He was a member of ARC, where he went daily to spend time with his friends, never meeting a stranger. Gary was an avid coffee fan, enjoyed his friends on Facebook and loved his family very much. "...PEACE OUT."
