Arthur Lake

Arthur Lake, 69, of Normal, passed away on September 21, 2023 at his home.

His memorial service will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Ironwood Golf Course, 1901 N. Towanda Ave., Normal, IL  61761.

Arthur was born on August 22, 1954 in Chicago, son to Thomas B. Lake, Sr. and Cleo H. Cheeks Lake. He married Shelia D. Smith on October 17, 1997 in Chicago. She preceded him in death in November 28, 2020.

Survivors include his children, Octavia (Carter) Lewis, Shique Smith, Tamika Lake, Stephen Lake, and Shauntalaya (Troy) Wilburn; siblings, Barbara Jones, Debra Autman, Monroe (Gwen) Lake, Maurice (Joan) Lake, and Michael (Sandra) Lake; best friend, Al Jordan; God daughter, Angel Jordan, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his spouse, Shelia D. Lake; daughter, Yhana Smith; parents, Cleo H. Cheeks and Thomas B. Lake, Sr.; and siblings, Patricia E. Lake, Thomas B. Lake, Jr., Christopher J. Lake.

Arthur loved his family dearly. He left many happy memories for them to treasure.
