Avanasia Thornton Patterson

Avanasia Thornton Patterson, 19, of Normal, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Kibler Brady Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the memorial home.

Avanasia was born May 28 2002. A bright beautiful soul full of purpose.

She was a student of Normal Community High School where she graduated this summer.

She received a scholarship through National Honor Society and Illinois State University, in which she chose to utilize at Heartland Community College. Where she would have pursued a career in paramedics.

God gave her a fight and she stood to the challenge. We have to know God’s will be done and we respect his decision.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother/mother June Patterson and Great Grandmother Teresa Patterson. Maternal Grandfather Bryant Fowler and Uncle Alix Bailey.

She will be greatly missed by her parents Marchillo and Carlyn Hughes. Her biological mother Shasta Jones and father Tylin Thornton. Her grandmothers Yvonne Jones, and Julie Thornton-Simmons. Her sister’s Anastasia Thornton-22, Avion Jones-20, Avonna Patterson-14, Caliyah Hughes-14. Her brother’s Camaron (cam) Hughes, Tylin (TJ) Myree, Tyion Myree, Tyshawn Hughes.
