Litchfield - Barbara J. Beitz, of Litchfield, formerly of Bloomington passed away at 4:38 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Copper Creek Cottages in Litchfield.

Her funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with Pastor Thomas Wirsing officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the memorial home.

Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church Lutheran Women's Missionary League or Ruby's Rescue and Retreat in McLean.

Barbara was born on February 2, 1931 in Bellflower, Illinois, a daughter to Lawrence and Vorda A. Polson Franklin. She married Delmar Beitz on June 15, 1951 in Bloomington.

Surviving is her loving husband of 66 years, Delmar; four daughters, Karen (Greg) Bixby of Plymouth, CA, Teresa (Brad) Williams of Bloomington, Pamela (John) Rice of Bloomington and Patricia (Jim) Peters of Litchfield; two sisters, Joan Bayler and Ruth Ruyle; three brothers, Floyd Franklin, Lawrence Franklin, Jr and Bob Franklin; twelve grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Paul Beitz; grandson, Nicholas Rice; three brothers and four sisters.

After moving to Bloomington, she attended beauty school and later worked for Growmark, Inc. where she was employed in data entry, retiring in 1988.

Barbara was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Dorcas Circle, Ladies Aid at Trinity Lutheran Church, Altar Guild and McLean County Home Extension.

She enjoyed time with her family, quilting, baking, traveling, music and dancing. Barbara cherished her time outdoors in her swing and flower gardening. She had a love for animals, especially their horses and German Shepherd.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be truly missed.
