Normal - Barbara Ann Colby, 71, of Normal, passed away at 7:43 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Her Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Merna in Bloomington with Fr. Dustin Schultz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at church. Cremation rites have been accorded. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Veteran's Sweat Lodge American Lake Hospital where donations can be made and contact information can be found at www.vasweatlodge.org.

Barbara was born on September 27, 1945 in Peru, Illinois, a daughter to Stanley and Anna (Kieras) Filipiak. She married Lyle Verne Colby on October 3, 1964 at St. Valentine's Catholic Church in Peru, Illinois.

Surviving are her husband, Lyle Colby of Normal; children, Colleen (David) Ziemer of Wisconsin, Steven (Laurie) Colby of Washington, Ann (William) Wolfe of Normal, IL and Mary Colby of Normal, IL; grandchildren, Tiffany (Jacob) Rodriguez of Texas, Nicholas (Barbara) Colby, of Washington State, Caleb Mangruem, Jayden Mangruem, Jrue Mangruem, Athanasius Wolfe, Martin Wolfe, Fidelia Wolfe and Mercy Wolfe, all of Normal, IL; great grandchildren, Dakota Rodriguez and Colton Rodriguez, both of Texas; sister, Patricia Slimko of Peru, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lorraine Stefaniak

Barbara was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Merna.

She loved spending time with her family. Barbara enjoyed crafting, collecting Santa figures and theatre.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be truly missed.
