Bloomington - Barry Lee Mogk, 43, of Bloomington passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Reflections of Barry's Life will be at 12:00 p.m. noon on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Calvary United Methodist Church in Normal with Rev. Debbie Reece officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the church on Saturday. Cremation rites have been accorded. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Special Olympics Illinois, S.O.A.R., Salvation Army, I.S.U. Best Buddies Program, Marc Center, Calvary United Methodist Church or R.E.A.C.H. Harvest Family Worship Center.

Barry was born on February 27, 1974 in Elmhurst, Illinois, a son to Martin G. and Elizabeth J. Parrott Mogk.

Surviving is his mother, Elizabeth Mogk of Bloomington; siblings, Martin R. (Sarah) Mogk of Burlington, IA, Geneva L. Rhinerson of Bensenville, Jane Thomas of Phoenix, AZ and Bill (Nancy) Mogk of Carol Stream; nieces, Tracy Diaz, Megan Hanley, Lisa Hollingsworth and Devon Vance; nephews, Billy Mogk, Matty Mogk and Cory Steel-Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Barry was born and raised in Bensenville, Illinois moving in 1997 when he began living independently through Marc Center in Bloomington. His first job was bagging groceries where he loved visiting with the customers. Later he worked for Burger King in Bloomington.

He was an active member of S.O.A.R. and the Special Olympics where some of his favorite activities were, ‘Polar Plunge', bowling, swimming and Bocce Ball. Barry was a devoted bell ringer for the Salvation Army and made many friends through all of these activities and groups, especially the Illinois State University Best Buddies Program.

Barry was a loving son, brother, uncle, great uncle and he shared his kindness with many who returned their love for him. He loved the Lord and was a messenger of the good word.
