Brandon Riggs

Brandon Riggs was born to Terry and Truly Riggs on December 24th, 1982 in Charleston, Missouri. This was the best Christmas and best gift his siblings and parents had. As a little boy, Brandon was very happy and outgoing. He was always saying, "Mom, everything is gonna be alright." After school, as a little boy, he would come home and lay on his mother's hip. Brandon was a lover.

He attended Opportunity Church of God in Christ from 1982-1986, under Pastor Steve Betts. Brandon was actively involved in VBS and Sunday school events. Every time we went to church, Brandon, along with his siblings, was there with our mother. Brandon would dance in the aisle of church.

In 1986, we moved to Bloomington as a family, Brandon was 4 years old and we began attending City of Refuge Ministries. While attending City of Refuge, he was involved in Sunday School, VBS, Sunshine Band, Drill Team and whatever the youth ministries was doing, Brandon was there, along with this siblings.

Brandon also played on the Knocker's football team while his little sis, Charlatta cheered him on. Brandon was always happy and sharing positive words. When life happens he would always say, "WE ARE GONNA BE ALRIGHT!"

Brandon moved to "NAPTown," as he called it, Indianapolis in 2008 with his fiancée, Chasity Dixon and their three boys (Dalin, Davon, and BJ) after the passing of their son DeMarcus.

He worked at Applebee's and loved flipping houses. Brandon was the life of the party with that big SMILE. Everywhere he went, a great time was expected. Brandon loved people and would give his last to help you out. Brandon often loved to fish and gained his love of fishing from his father, Terry whom he affectionately called "Pops".

Brandon had one son that preceded him in death, DeMarcus. His paternal grandparents, Eugene and Martha Riggs and his maternal grandfather, Robert Lyons.

He leaves his grandmother, Lue Alice Lyons of Charleston, MO; his parents, Terry and Truly Riggs, both of Bloomington; two brothers, Derek and Terry Jr. (Adia), both of Bloomington; three sisters Anitha (Marvin) of Bloomington, Nicole Riggs of Indianapolis, and Charlatta (William) of Bloomington. Brandon loved his children, Jayln, Dalin, Davon, Sean, Cameron, Brandon Jr., Alexis, Brandon Jr., and Elayjah. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, Tosha, Java, Stevenson, D'Mitri, TJ, Nylah, Terrance, Annie, Breonna, Autumn, Savon, Alaysia, DJ, Tariyah, Tiyjalauanna, Aldaysheanna, Heaven, Braylee, William, Jr., and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Brandon leaves his memories to be cherished. He will be greatly missed.
