Bloomington – Burton Leroy “Tukey” Perez, 60, passed away at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at his home.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Pastor David Wayne Brown officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements. Tukey was born on October 31, 1960 in Bloomington, a son to W.T. Jumper and Sara Maria Perez Kirksey. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where he would help pick up the rocks in the parking lot. He also helped on the Food Pantry’s Truck Delivery. Tukey loved watching Football, he was a Green Bay Packer fan.
Tukey was known of being the guy who checked up on people in Bloomington. If you were in downtown Bloomington you would always see Tukey. If you mentioned Tukey’s name mostly everyone knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Frances Kirksey; brothers, Brad Perez and Tony Williams; half-sisters, Anita Jumper and Deloris Jumper; half-brothers, James Jumper, Alonzo Jumper, Tommy (Sharron) Jumper, and Timmy Jumper; devoted friend, Rachel Wells-Rusk; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Clinton Kirksey, Loraine Coleman, and Joseph Jumper.
