Normal - Carol J. Nabakowski, 81, of Normal, passed away at 3:57 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal.
Her Celebration Of Life will be from 5-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Carol was born on July 23, 1936 in Norwalk, Ohio, a daughter to Bert and Ruth Blanch Olive Martin. She married William ‘Bill' Nabakowski on August 27, 1955 in Birmingham, Ohio.
Surviving is her loving husband of 62 years, Bill Nabakowski of Normal; two sons, John (Rebecca) Nabakowski of Normal and James (Dutchalyn) Nabakowski of Memphis, TN; two daughters, Jodie (Danny) Ditchen of Indianapolis, IN and Jenifer (Craig) Strohbeck of St. Louis, MO; brother, Robert K. Martin of New Smyrna Beach, FL; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Jeffrey William and her brother, James Martin.
Carol loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, she will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
Carol and her husband owned and operated Nubby's Outdoor Power Equipment for 30 years. Later, she was employed at Wal Mart for over 24 years. Carol also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and baking.
