Bloomington - Catherine "Kathy" L. Bellott, 69, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Kathy was born on January 6, 1949 in Oglesby, Illinois, a daughter to Bernard J. and Lucille C. White Bellott.
Surviving is her daughter, Dee (Xan) Flink of Chicago; siblings, Barb (Jim) Faber of St. Louis, MO, Barry (Sheila) Bellott of Aurora and Julie (Scott) Dunkin of Charlotte, NC; and grandchildren, Joseph, Elliot and Freya.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joe Bellott.
Kathy was raised in Streator, Illinois. She received her Bachelors degree from Southern Illinois University in education and her Masters degree from Illinois State University. She taught high school business classes for 35 years in Streator, Wenona, Bloomington, and Peoria school districts.
After retiring she was active and involved in many activities with her friends and church family of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Merna for 20 years. Kathy served on the Family Life Ministry Team, volunteered in the Youth Ministry, Religious Education Program, Ministry of Mom Sharing and Cursillio.
Kathy treasured and was devoted to her faith and it served as an anchor for her life.
Her family would like to thank her friends from Faith in Action, especially Kathy Hopper and Ricardo Baez for their loving care and assistance. They would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Marjorie Kauth and Geralyn and Joe Miskulin for their love and support.
Her Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2018 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Merna in Bloomington with Fr. Michael Picca officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. prior to mass at the church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be directed to Westminster Village Foundation.
