Hudson - Chauncey M. James, 75, of Hudson, passed away at 12:07 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2019 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 with Fellowship to follow at Laborers Local #362, 2012 Fox Creek Road in Bloomington. Memorials may be directed to the family. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Chauncey was born on March 2, 1944 in Helena, Arkansas, a son to Charles M. and Helen Cusey James. He married Brenda Emberton on November 16, 2006.
Surviving is his loving wife of 13 years, Brenda James, of Hudson; daughters, Gina (Bobby) Cochran of Bloomington and Dena James of Normal; four grandchildren, Chauncey (Courtland), Bobbi Jo, Blade and Wesley; eight great grandchildren, Chauncey, Collin, Brady, Mason, Liam, Sophia, Chloe and Porter; brothers, Clayton (Gwen) James of Downs, Wayne (Sue) James of Bloomington and Mike (Denise) James of West Virginia and his two special dogs, Trixie and Gracie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Steve Kennel.
Chauncey was a proud union man. He worked as a laborer for 55 years out of Laborers Local #362. He assisted the elderly in a variety of ways and enjoyed volunteering for the Special Olympics. Chauncey was a diehard Chicago Bears fan, loved spending his Sundays with family and friends watching the game or cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers, Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
He loved his beautiful wife and daughters unconditionally. His brothers were his best friends. He had a special love for each one of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Chauncey's truest love was for his dog, Trixie and Gracie., he never left the house without them.
