Cheryl Slagel

July 13, 1952 — January 28, 2017

Bloomington - Cheryl A. (Brown) Slagel, 64, of Bloomington, passed away at 6:35 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at her residence.

Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Bloomington with Bishop James Nave officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Interment will be at Wiley Cemetery in Colfax, Illinois. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Cheryl was born on July 13, 1952 in Normal, Illinois, a daughter to George and Ruth Taylor Brown. She married Mark Slagel on January 21, 1984 in Flanagan, Illinois.

Surviving is her husband, Mark Slagel of Bloomington; two daughters, Loretta (Race) Quinn and Angie Brown, both of Bloomington; brother, Tim (Cheryl) Brown of Bloomington; sister, Shawne (Jim) Wempen of Decatur; six grandsons, Cameron Pierce of Bloomington, Joshua Reinitz, Jr. of Bloomington, Travis Quinn of Clinton, Joey Reinitz of Bloomington, Brady Pierce of Bloomington and Jonah Quinn of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ronnie and a sister, Karol.

Cheryl was a life long member of Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Bloomington.

She loved children and babysitting. Cheryl enjoyed cooking, crafts and listening to books on tape.

Cheryl was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and she will be truly missed.
