Bloomington - Cleo P. Colaw, 93 of Bloomington, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
Her funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with Rev. Bryan Burris officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:30 a.m. prior to her service at the memorial home.
Interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to Carlock Christian Church.
Cleo was born on March 28, 1924 in Carlock, Illinois, a daughter to Elmer and Jesse Kiser Bayles. She married Joseph Isaia in 1941 in Great Lakes, Illinois. She married Richard Allen Colaw on April 10, 1967 in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1998.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph Isaia of Normal and Gilbert Isaia of Bristol, Connecticut; and a daughter, Linda (Bill) Sowers of Springfield. She is also survived by two sisters, Elma Voorheis of Normal and Shirley Rosendahl of Gibson City; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Daniel Isaia; one brother, Elmer Bayles, two sisters, Lucille Davidson and Marjorie Martin, and one grandson.
Cleo was a member of the 8 and 40 and a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a past member of the American Business Women's Association.
Over her lifetime, Cleo enjoyed quilting, putting puzzles together, latch hooking rugs, sports of all kinds, especially the Cardinals, taking care of her canine companions, and especially being a part of her families' activities. She was a member of the Carlock Christian Church for many years and a past member of Crossroads Chapel.
