Cory was born on February 25, 1981 in Normal, Illinois, to Margie Casey, a devoted and fearless single mother. He met his other half, Megan Magers, in 2007 and she survives. In addition to Megan, Cory is survived by his four precious children, a chosen daughter, Bailey Homerding; his pride and joy, twins Alyssa and Hannah Casey; and the apple of his eye, Colton Casey; a sister, Shanna (Christopher) McDaniels of Lexington; a nephew, Ethan McDaniels; and many much-loved aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and fishing buddies.
He was preceded in death by a special uncle, Dennis "Red" Casey, and his unwavering companion, Cooper the roofing dog.
Cory graduated from Normal Community West High School in 1999. He attended Illinois State University before starting his own successful business in 2008.
He was a self-made man. He poured himself into Casey Roofing, Inc. and had an outstanding reputation in the community. He worked hard and played hard. He enjoyed playing euchre, going boating, and fishing every chance he got.
Cory's true legacy lives on in his children. There was nothing he adored more than raising them with Megan by his side. His proudest moments were those spent entertaining his family and friends. He was ornery, loyal, dependable, and true. He was the kind of person that people gravitated to. Heaven became a lot more fun the night Cory arrived.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for an education fund for his children.
