Crystal Maurine Schiltz previously of Oswego, IL, born June 10, 1982 to parents Scott and Faith Schiltz of Oswego passed away July 8, 2019 at OSF Medical Center in Bloomington, IL. She is survived by her parents, sister Stephanie Schiltz Hurst (Christopher) of Plainfield, IL, nieces Lilian Danner and Amelia Hurst, grandmother Nelda Robertson and a plethora of aunts and uncles.Born a beautiful redhead, Crystal enjoyed a unique identity for her life. Her early life was nurtured by the Oswego community, schools, Church of the Good Shepherd, Fourth Street United Methodist Church and Lake Louise Holy Ground Camp. Many days were spent playing in grandparents Glen and Ida Schiltz's backyard or visiting cousins at grandparents Brace and Nelda Robertson's farm. Her middle name Maurine was in honor of a beloved family friend/teacher in Farrar, Iowa, Maurine Norton.Crystal loved NHRA drag racing and attended the US Nationals year after year with her dad, sister and family friends Roberto, Bobby and Manuel Lopez. She also had a passion for music. She sang in church choirs, played violin and drums and attended Dave Matthews concerts as often as she could. She loved community, especially the friendly Bloomington-Normal, IL community and enjoyed volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.Celebration service is being held on Wednesday, July 17th at Plymouth Congregational Church in Plainfield IL. 11am-1pm celebration of life, 1pm service and 2pm-4pm meal at Big Pauly's Pizza.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Plymouth Congregational Church.
