Bloomington - Cynthia L. "Cindy" Bach, 61, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Heartland Manor Care in Normal following a courageous 16-month battle against breast cancer, her loving husband, her brother and a friend at her bedside.
Cindy was born on November 21, 1955, the daughter of Bob and Louise Totheroh of Wellington, Illinois. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1973 as class Valedictorian.
She married Eric L. "Bones" Bach on May 19, 1990 in Bloomington, Illinois.
Known for her infectious smile, quick wit, and incredible sense of humor, Cindy was very proud to have persevered until she graduated from Illinois State University in 1993 with her B.S. degree in communications, attending night classes while working full-time.
She was employed as a key staff support person with Dunbar-Breitweiser Accounting in Bloomington for over 28 years. She and her husband owned and operated Lullaby Laundry cloth diaper service in Bloomington from 1990 to 1998.
She was preceded in death by her mother and her older sister, Kathy Stroink.
Cindy considered her family and friends to be the most important things in her life and she genuinely loved spending time with both at every possible opportunity.
She is survived by her father, husband, brother Todd (Anne) Totheroh, brothers-in law Dr. Jan Bach and Gerald Gwin, sister in law Gaylon Bach Gwin, nieces Lacey Stroink, Whitney Totheroh, Taylor (Cody) Robinson, Emma, Grace, and Sophie Totheroh, Dawn Bach Thurman, Eva Bach Englehard, Susan Gwin Gayton and nephews Nick and Eric Gwin as well as many grand nieces and nephews and her devoted Cairn Terriers, Mabel, Betsy and Brodie.
An opportunity to share love for and memories of Cindy will be during her visitation from 11:00 a.m. until her Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in her name to the Community Cancer Center of Illinois or Cairn Rescue USA Midwest (CRUSA), 617 Richards St., Geneva, IL 60134.
Cindy's family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. John Migas, Dr. Katharine Widerborg, the staffs of OSF St Joseph Medical Center, the Community Cancer Center, Barnes Cancer Center in St Louis, St Joseph's Home Health Care, Heartland Manor Care and Compassus Hospice of Bloomington for their devoted care and caring for our beloved Cindy.
