Normal - Darnell Davis, 59, of Normal, passed away at 2:25 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

His memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Summit, IL with Rev. Dr. Jimmy L. Daniels officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Darnell was born on June 12, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois, a son to Connis Kitchen and Mary Davis. He married Rosemary Robinson on February 14, 2001 in St. Louis, MO. She preceded him in death in 2009.

Surviving are his children, Carnell D. Davis of St. Louis, MO, Candice Davis of St. Louis, MO and Darnisha M. Davis of Bloomington, IL; siblings, Kenneth Ray Speech of Chicago, Deborah Davis of Chicago, Rodrick (Denice) Speech of Chicago, Chairlando Speech of Haynesville, LA Joyce (Ray) Davis of Joliet, Connie Kitchen of Cedar Rapids, IA and Dennis Kitchen of Chicago; step mother, Willie Pearl Kitchen of Joliet; step sibling, Willie James Kitchen of Joliet; life partner, Lorraine Jackson of Normal; nine grandchildren, Taitiana Davis, Cayson Stevenson, Kinyah Davis, Carnell Davis Jr., Ty'mia Davis, Anastasia Fuler, Christina Franko, Elija Davis, A'myah Davis, and two more on the way; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Carnell Davis and sister, Shirley Brown.

Darnell proudly served in the United States Navy. He loved to cook and was a chef at Medici in Normal, retiring in 2011. Darnell enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was family oriented and always the life of the party.
