Bloomington - David W. Rutledge. 63, of Bloomington, passed away at 8:18 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Aperion Care in Bloomington.
A private inurnment will be in Chenoa Cemetery at a later date. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
David was born on May 29, 1954 in Bloomington, a son to Clarence W. And Margaret (Engel) Rutledge.
He attended District 87 and Unit 5 schools and graduated from Normal Community High School in 1972. He married Joyce Keith in 1984 and had one daughter, Ashleigh. His entire life was spent within the Bloomington/Normal community living and working.
Surviving is his daughter, Ashleigh Rutledge (fiancè, Christopher Wasson) of Bloomington; brother, Daniel Rutledge (Connie DaLanater) of Utah; sister, Mary (David) Tosh of Normal; two nieces, two nephews, two great nephews and a host of relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two aunts and an uncle.
David was a lifelong railroad enthusiast who was very excited to have the opportunity to engineer a train on his birthday one year. For many years he was active in the local model railroad club and loved running his American Flyer trains at shows. He admired President Kennedy and Bob Hope, both of whom he shared the same birthday with. David loved animals and being outdoors gardening and doing lawn care.
