Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church
with Pastor Marlon Webb delivering the eulogy. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time

family with arrangements. Memorial contributions should be given to Takesha Stokes.
Eddie was born on June 17, 1956 in Springfield, IL to Clarence and Bonnie Miller Spice. As a child, Eddie
attended Union Baptist Church where he accepted Christ and was baptized.
He joined Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Bloomington, IL and served as a member here until he went
home to be with the Lord. Mr. Eddie, as he was affectionately called, was employed at Mount Pisgah as
a maintenance technician for approximately 8 years. He loved his job and the people at Mount Pisgah.
Throughout the years, he took pride in his work and served faithfully until his health started to decline.
Eddie greeted everyone with a smile and was always giving, caring, and very respectful. He was a true
gentleman and genuinely enjoyed helping others. Eddie was a handyman and helped many people with
home projects.
Eddie loved life to the fullest and lived a simple, joyous life. His children and grandchildren meant the
world to him. Eddie graciously took on a huge responsibility and raised his children alone for many
years. His favorite hobbies were fishing, playing cards with his friends, grilling ribs and wings, and
spending time with family. Eddie loved to dress well and his attire was never complete without a
matching cap, brim or Kangol. Over the years, he kept a collection of blazers, hats, cologne, and shoes.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Bonnie Spice, his brother, Perry Miller, and his
nephew, Andre Shelly.
Eddie leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Edtwan Spice, Elexis Spice, and Eshonna Spice, all of
Bloomington, and Eddie Spice, Jr. of Springfield; grandchildren, E’mira Beasley, Zamiah Spice, and Leah
Marie Rose Spice, all of Bloomington; siblings, Lillie Shelly of WI, Pharoh Miller, Robert Spice, Leo Miller,
and Theodore Miller, all of Springfield. He is also survived by his supportive friend and caregiver during
his final months, Takesha Stokes, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
