Eric ‘Cookie' Payton Farris was born on June 10, 1964 to the late Carl Eric Russell and Rosie M. Farris.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at the Faith Word Bible Fellowship in Fort Worth, TX.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, Carl Eric Russell; grandparents, Rosie and Ben Farris and Mary and Matthew Kelker; a son, Demetrius Farris; a sister, Mary Russell; an aunt, Ruby Spruiell, and uncles, Ben Farris and Eddie Farris.
Eric leaves to mourn his passing; mother, Rosie Giles Walker; three sisters, LaWanda (Bobby) Benson, Carla Harmon, and Paula Walker; three brothers; Tommie Lee Giles, Donald Walker and Keith Walker; nine children, Erica Sims, Anthony (Latasha) Hunt, Kenisha Bates, Shanna Sims, Eric (Shay) Hunt, Orlando McCoy, Erica McCoy Byrd, DeAngelo (Octavia) Hunt, and Antwan McCoy; twenty-four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; three aunts, Ruth Haney, Dorothy Farris and Ouida Farris; two uncles, James Farris and Elbert Farris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including a very special friends, Cheryl Cooper.
He was a very loving and kind person who was always willing to help others. He loved his children very much.
His funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with Rev. Toby Carlos officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the memorial home.
