Evelyn Mozdzen

Evelyn A. Mozdzen, 93 of Normal, formerly of Oak Lawn, passed away at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Heritage Health in Normal.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019 at St. Gerald Catholic Church in Oak Lawn with Fr. Michael Flynn officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington, with a prayer service to follow at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the memorial home.

Interment will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice. Memorials may be directed to The Leukemia Research Foundation.

Evelyn was born on May 30, 1926 in Chicago, a daughter to Stanley and Anna Baca Gonska. She married Edward Mozdzen on June 8, 1946 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1998.

Surviving are her children, Cindy (David) Smith and Joseph Mozdzen both of Normal; grandchildren, Kristin (Phil) Kleemann of Bolingbrook, Beth (Bill Dennis) Smith of Normal, and Jill (Ben) Nydegger of Bloomington, and five great grandchildren, Kailie Kleemann, Ethan Nydegger, Kevin Nydegger, Sebastian Dennis, and Scarlet Dennis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Mary Ann Daly.

Evelyn was active with The Leukemia Research Foundation.
