Hillis Lee Grismore, 76, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Peoria, passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to his family. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Hillis was born on July 1, 1944 in Peoria, a son to Hillis E. and Rosie Lee Harps Grismore.
Surviving are his daughters, Kathy Grismore of Bloomignton, Elaine Grismore of Bloomington, and Tina (Michael) Herron of Rockford; grandchildren, Patrick (Jeanada) Walker, D'Angelo (Sequelia) Herron, Michael (Regina) Herron, Davontay (Minesha) Swain, Quandarius and Miracle Herron, Donta (Selina) Grismore, Phillip Grismore, Niesha Alexander, Rita (Laron) Taylor, Chasaddy (Charles) Grismore-Hill, Cheneatha Grismore, Chad Grismore, Khalil Grismore, Xander Grismore, Maleah Grismore, and Devin Grismore, and a sister, Teri E. Hayes of Peoria. He is also survived by twenty-seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Lamar Harps, Norman Harps Leon Harps.
Hillis was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
