John Newby
Heyworth - John R. Newby, 66, of Heyworth, passed away at 9:29 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at his residence.
A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Wish Bone Canine Rescue. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
John was born on October 18, 1951 in Du Quoin, Illinois, a son to Richard L. and Marilyn E. Provart Newby. He married Pam Eversole on July 5, 1980 in Shelbyville, Illinois.
Surviving is his wife, Pam Newby of Heyworth; two brothers, David Newby of Quartz Hill, CA and Kent (Kelly) Newby of Centennial, CO; sister, Jane (Tim) Tilden of Vermillion, SD and several nieces, nephews and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
John grew up in Bloomington/Normal and attended Metcalf and University High schools. He joined Ameren where he worked as a sub station electrician for 20 years and worked for Ameren for a total of 32 years.
He loved motorcycles and enjoyed his rides. John loved being outdoors and planting trees on his acres of land.
He owned and operated Tamara's Estate Sales with his wife Pam. John has reached out and touched many families in the Bloomington Normal community as a result of his kindness and compassion.
John was loved by his wife Pam and all of his family and friends who knew him.
