Bloomington - Kathleen ‘Katy' Ann O'Malley Graf, 74 of Bloomington is with her family in heaven. She passed away at 5:58 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington with Fr. Greg Nelson officiating, con celebrating, Fr. Rev. Ric Schneider O.F.M. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Downs. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's School or McLean County Extension Service Foundation-4-H.
Katy was born on November 29, 1943, in Bloomington, she was the youngest daughter of Myles "Mike" and Mary O'Malley and sister to Thomas and Mary Ellen all deceased. She married Carl Graf, Jr. on September 26, 1964 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bloomington.
Surviving is her husband Carl Graf, Jr. of Bloomington; six children, Chris (Dennis) Chenoweth of Bloomington, Joe (Lisa) Graf of Normal, Carol (Tim) Asis of Bloomington, Michael (Lisa) Graf of Chenoa, Mary (Marshall) Watson of Hudson, and Theresa (Tony) Chambers of Downs. She has eleven angels for grandchildren; Molly (Marc) Malinowski, Sean Goben, Jared Graf, Luke Graf, Amber Graf, Natalie Graf, Thomas Asis, Hailey Watson, Myles Chambers, Katharine Chambers and Emma Watson.
Katy grew up on West Chestnut Street and had many fond memories of walking to Trinity High School. She worked as a secretary for many years for the merit commission with former Sheriff Steve Brienen. She took care of the farm with Carl and supported the kids in 4-H as a leader for many years.
She loved her flowers, Elvis, and any and all things Irish. Katy volunteered at Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen and was a member of the Parish Council at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She weaved baskets for friends and family with the "Holy Weavers". She has many loving friends.
The family would like to thank Sugar Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center and the BroMenn Adult Day Service for creating many moments of joy for her over the past year. The care she received from the OSF Hospital doctors, nursing staff, and palliative care is to be commended.
