Jean was born on January 1, 1959 in Sunflower, Mississippi, a daughter to James and Sarah Talley.

Surviving are her loving children, Latasha Talley of Indianapolis, IN, Latricia Talley of Normal, IL, Bobby Jr. of East St. Louis, IL, and Eric Talley of Bloomington, IL.; grandchildren, Niam Patton, Lilan Clark, Rahiam Shabazz, Leilia Young, Libertee Talley, Tavien Talley; great grandchildren, A'zhori Patton and Niemah "Jean" Patton; three sisters, Sarah Smith of Bellville, IL, Vickie Talley of Bellville, IL, and Ladena Talley of Bloomington, IL; three brothers, Gordon Talley of Milwaukee, WI, Ricky Talley of Bloomington, IL, and Charles (Marva) Talley of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; best friend (soulmate), Bobbie King; one brother, James Talley, Jr.; two nephews, Shaun Talley and Elias Talley; one aunt, Rosetta Smith and a host of cousins.

"Momma Jean" accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a faithful church member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and attended Bible study every Wednesday.

Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, sibling and friend and will be greatly missed. She had such a big heart for helping during her precious time here on earth.

She began working as a babysitter at the young age of 12 years old. She was very talented and worked in many fields such as factory worker, sales associate and a caregiver. Being established in these many work areas allowed Jean to be a great leader and she changed other people's lives.

Jean's hobbies and interests were Bible Study, spending time with her family, shopping, and taking pictures. She had a passion for spreading love by giving kisses and leaving her print of lips on your cheeks. Jean loved to play "deuces" for quarters and she would always hit the jackpot. On a day-to-day basis, someone in her family or a friend would receive a phone call from her checking in on them saying, "Hey Poodie, Girly or Kiddo." We will miss those sweet words, phone calls, laughs and smiles Momma Jean brought to us all.

"To be absent from the body is to be present with God."
