Lauri Faye DeVault, 58, of Bloomington, passed away at 6:19 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at her residence.
Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Normal with Pastor Kim Burke officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday at the church.
Entombment will be in East Lawn Mausoleum in Bloomington. Memorials may be directed to American Diabetes Association or First United Methodist Church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lauri was born on December 2, 1960 in Bloomington, a daughter to Vernon D. and Patricia Harris Shepherd. She married Kevin DeVault on September 17, 1983 at First United Methodist Church in Normal, Illinois where she was a member.
Surviving is her loving husband of 35 years, Kevin; mother, Patricia Shepherd; two sons, Nathan DeVault and Tyler DeVault, all of Bloomington; one brother, David (Cheryl) Shepherd, of Barrington; and special kitty, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
Lauri graduated from Normal Community High School in 1978 and graduated from Illinois State University in 1982 with a Bachelor's Degree in food and nutrition. Lauri had been employed for the past 20 years in the litigated claims department of Country Companies.
She enjoyed needlepoint and had a passion for cooking. She shared her love through cooking, especially at Christmas time when she would take a week off to bake treats for her family and friends. Lauri had a special love for all animals.
Lauri's greatest joy was her family. She was deeply loved and will be truly missed.
