Lester Simmons, Jr.

Lester Simmons, Jr., 74, of Bloomington, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2022 at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to his family. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lester was born on June 9, 1948 in Marianna, Arkansas, a son to Lester Simmons and Lizzie Mae Simmons – Cochran.

Surviving are his significant other of 37 years, Beatrice Grismore; children, Lester Thomas Simmons, Leslie Simmons, Bryant and Adam Simmons, Kathy Grismore, Shelia, Elaine, Jack (Carlos), Tave, and James. He is also survived by many grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parent, one brother, and a stepson.

He was employed at several businesses in Bloomington-Normal including Firestone, 4M Building Solutions, Kinkos, lawn care services, and cleaning services at IAA Credit Union.

Lester was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
