Lisa Ann Bethea

Lisa Ann Bethea entered the presence of Jesus on Saturday July 30, 2022, at her home. Lisa was born in Springfield, IL to the late Robert LaVerne Merrill and Ollie Jane (Moss) Merrill. She married the late Stephen Paul Bethea of Bloomington, IL May, 30, 1987. They were married for 26 years. Beloved mother of Sarah Jane Weber (Nicholas) of Bloomington, IL; Carly Ann Bethea of Scottsdale, AZ; Timothy Paul Bethea of Bloomington, IL; and Hannah Lynn Bethea (Dante) of Bloomington, IL. Loving grandmother of Ellianah Grace Weber, William Michael Weber, Willow Rayne Williams, and Emerson Jane Weber. Survived by her brother David (Jean) Merrill of Maryville, MO. She is preceded in death by her loving sister Carol Ann Merrill, now together in the presence of their Savior.

Lisa graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. She was a long-time member of East White Oak Bible Church where she taught many Sunday school classes, enjoyed several Bible studies, and fellowshipping with friends. Lisa enjoyed being around her family and friends, spending time outdoors, and attending worship concerts with friends and family. She was very passionate about others, always offering her love, support, help, and a listening ear. Her time spent with her children and grandchildren were the most precious to her, and we will treasure the many fond memories. But most of all Lisa loved Jesus, and we take great comfort in knowing she is now in the loving arms of her Savior.  

Her memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at East White Oak Bible Church in Carlock. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be left to East White Oak Bible Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
