Lois Runge

Normal - Lois E. Runge, 87, of Normal, passed away at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Her funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington. Her visitation will be held 12:00 p.m to 1:30 p.m, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be held at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Lois was born on October 23, 1930 in Ellsworth, a daughter to James and Mabel Harsha Leichtenberg. She married Howard R. Runge on June 18, 1960 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1993.

Surviving are her children, Ron (Joyce) Runge of Tallahassee, FL, David Runge of Mexico, MO, Diane Arwood of Bloomington, and Peggy Smith of Bloomington; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one brother, Norman (Donna) Leichtenberg of Normal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Howard, her son, Howard "PeeWee" Runge, Jr., brothers Robert and Larry Leichtenberg, and son-in-law, Sidney Smith.

After her retirement from Union Auto Insurance, Lois enjoyed volunteer work in the community. She also enjoyed playing Bunco, Bingo and joining friends for breakfast.

Lovingly known as "GG," she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-granddaughter, Sydny.
