Bloomington - Margaret Lipp, 90, of Bloomington, passed away at 3:04 a.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at her residence.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington with Rev. Keith Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11:00 a.m. prior to her service at the church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Downs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Wesley United Methodist Church or a charity of donor's choice.
Margaret was born on January 4, 1928 in Fairfax, Iowa to Clifford C. and Bessie L. Reichert Wilson. She married Earl B. Lipp on June 20, 1948 in Downs, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2013.
Surviving are her children, Marcia (Richard) Primm of Bloomington and Steven R. (Becky) Lipp of Shirley; grandchildren, Sven (Becky) Nuesken of Colorado, Erik (Becky) Nuesken of Normal, Jennifer (Eric) Vinsel of Bloomington, Melanie Lipp of Bloomington and Sarah (Derek) Burnett of Normal; nine great grandchildren; sister, Betty (Ray) Knuckles of Bloomington and brother, Robert (Annette) Wilson of Knoxville, TN; eight nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, and one grandson.
Margaret was raised in Downs. After marrying Earl and having two children, she went to work at State Farm Insurance in the advertising department for nearly 30 years. She and her husband loved traveling in retirement. She enjoyed reading and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. Margaret was cheerful and kind and was known for her infectious smile and sense of humor. She will be deeply missed.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the United Methodist Women (UMW). Margaret sang in the Bloomington Sweet Adelines Chorus for many years and was also a member of P.E.O. Chapter LO.
