Mary Zagar

La Salle - Mary Jeannette Zagar, 94, of La Salle, formerly of Bloomington, passed away at 3:15 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at her residence.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bloomington with Fr. Jeff Horton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass at the church.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Bloomington. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Salvation Army. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary was born on January 1, 1924 in Raywick, Kentucky, a daughter to Joseph M. and Mary Elizabeth Downs Leake. She married Joseph V. Zagar. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1998.

Surviving are her children; Anthony (Kara) Zagar of Shelbyville, IN, Linda Maire Zamarron of Normal and Joseph K. Zagar of La Salle; grandchildren, Candice Van Hook, Constance Nelson, Erik Zagar and Michael Zagar; and great grandchildren, Noah Van Hook, Emmanuelle Nelson, Grace Van Hook, Jasiah Nelson Nikolas Nelson and Michaiyah Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and an infant son.

Mary was raised in McLean County and graduated from Bloomington High School. She worked at Miller Jewelry in Bloomington and later for State Farm Insurance and Bergner's in the jewelry department.

She loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
