Michael Davis

Bloomington - Michael E. Davis, 59, of Athens, Alabama, formerly of Bloomington, passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

His funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. noon on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with Pastor Larry Van Gundy officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the memorial home.

Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to the family.

Michael was born on January 12, 1958 in Peoria, Illinois, a son to Eugene Hines and Beatrice Davis.

Surviving is his mother, Beatrice Davis Grismore of Bloomington; his long time companion, Martressa ‘Plum' Harris; children, Cher Fuller of Seattle, WA, Michael Davis, Jr of Tocamo, WA and Gaylen Sanders of Peoria; stepdaughters, Nelissa Allison and Torennia Harris; godson, Lavell Harris; three brothers, James Davis, Carlos Grismore and Octavius Grismore, all of Bloomington; three sisters, Sheila Brickie of Alabama, Elaine Grismore and Kathy Grismore both of Bloomington; siblings, Benita Green, Kenny Metts, Theresa McAfee, Tara Lindsey, Tyrone Pie, Patricia Pie, Shalesse Pie, Joseph Pie, Tony Shorty and Terry Shorty; 15 grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Hines; grandmothers, Reatha Davis and Alberta Miles; grandfather, Willie Davis and siblings, Dean McAfee, Carmen McAfee and Theresa Davis.
