Nancy Casperson

January 28, 1958 — June 18, 2019

Nancy Jane Casperson, 61, of Bloomington, passed away at 2:35 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, surrounded by her loving family.

Her Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with Pastor Ed Wright officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the memorial home.

Inurnment will be at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Nancy was born on January 28, 1958 in Bloomington, the daughter of Coleman "Cracker" and Thelma Wooten Hicks. She married Christian Casperson on May 29, 1982 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1988.

Surviving are her children, Johnny Ray (Amber) Baize of Dalzell, Charlie (Tiffany) Casperson, and Christopher Casperson both of Bloomington; grandchildren, Bailey Prince of Leroy, Jane Ross of Colfax, Jillian Ross, Jessica Ross, Joslynn Casperson, Delanie Casperson, Tobias Casperson all of Bloomington, and Sabine Casperson, Harlee Casperson both of MO, Xavier Casperson and Gabriel Casperson both of Bloomington; brothers, Rod (Carla) Hicks of Roscoe and Mark Hicks of Bloomington. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Christian.

Nancy had a love for cooking and throughout her life was employed as a cook at various local nursing homes and Country Companies for a short time.

She was a member of the Bloomington Chapter of the Eastern Star. Nancy volunteered with the local boy scouts and also volunteered with The American Legion Post 79 in Leroy.

Nancy was known for her contagious sense of humor. She loved to crochet and enjoyed making gifts for her friends and family. She also adored her large assortment of angels that she collected over the years. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
