Nancy L. Roth, 69, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, after fighting metastatic breast cancer.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2019 in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Memorials may be directed to Kirk School in Palatine, Illinois or an animal welfare organization of the donor's choice. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Nancy was born on March 22, 1949, in Evanston, Illinois, a daughter to Robert R. and Lorrayne J. Jonas Roth.
Surviving is her brother, Robert A. Roth of Chicago; sister, Barbara D. Alt of Bloomington;
niece, Adrienne K. Alt of Bloomington; and her close friend, Michele Trzesniak of Crest Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois and attended University of Wisconsin in Whitewater, Wisconsin where she received a Bachelor's degree in special education. She went on to obtain a Master's degree in special education from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, Illinois. She devoted her life to teaching autistic students and students categorized as "severe & profound." She initially taught school in Beloit, Wisconsin, but spent most of her teaching career at NSSEO Kirk School in Palatine, Illinois. She loved her job, and she loved her students. Nancy was also a life-long animal lover.
