Bloomington - Rebecca ‘Becky' J. Ansher, 58 of Bloomington, passed away at 4:27 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at her residence after a long battle with cancer.
Her funeral service will be 11 AM on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Normal with Pastor Kathy King-Nobles officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 PM on Friday at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington, which is assisting the family with arrangements.
Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. Memorials may be directed to Miller Park Zoological Society, American Legion Post #323 in Henry, IL, Humane Society of Central Illinois, First United Methodist Church, or American Cancer Society.
Becky was born on March 10, 1960 in Spring Valley, Illinois, a daughter to Irvin and Lillian Fornero Morgensen. She married Jay Ansher on June 23, 2006 in Normal, Illinois.
Surviving is her husband, Jay Ansher of Bloomington; son Alexander Ansher; two sisters, Barbara Chambers of McNabb and Roberta (Thomas) Cotter of Veneta, OR; nephews, Chris (Amy) Chambers of Moscow, ID and Kevin (Sarah) Chambers of Eugene, OR; and nieces, Jessica Cotter of New York City, NY and Meegan Cotter of Veneta, OR.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Becky grew up in Henry, Illinois and graduated from the College of Business at Illinois State University. She started her career managing music stores in Illinois but found her passion selling jewelry at retail stores around the midwest, before eventually managing a new jewelry store in Bloomington and settling there. She was more recently employed as a manager for nearly 20 years at State Farm Insurance in Bloomington.
She enjoyed owning and riding horses, gardening in her yard, and traveling. But most of all, she was dedicated to time with her family, especially her son Alex.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Bloomington-Normal Ski Club.
