Bloomington - Russell Snodgrass, 75, of Bloomington, formerly of Downs, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Aperion Care in Bloomington.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a gathering at the VFW Hall in Bloomington on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Russell was born on October 4, 1941 in Bloomington, Illinois, a son to Charles "Lyle" and Evelyn Robbins Snodgrass.
Surviving is his daughter, Lori (Peter) Mitchell and three grandchildren, Teagan Thompson, Shelby Mitchell and Riley Mitchell, all of Park Forest. Also his special friend Brenda Wheat Brady, of Normal, who was like a daughter to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, C. Lyle Snodgrass, Jr. and Byron "Bud" Snodgrass; an infant sister, and his ex-wife, Gloria Norfleet.
He was employed as a laborer for many years. He later worked for Bauer Gudeman Landscaping before retiring.
Russell proudly served in the United States Army Reserves.
Russell enjoyed Stock car racing, fishing, and raising rabbits, pigeons and horses.
