Ruth Howard

Ruth Ann Howard, 67, was born to the union of Sib and Estella (Hall) Howard on March 6, 1955, in Charleston, Missouri.
Ruth graduated from Bloomington High School in Bloomington, Illinois in 1972 and completed her college education at Heartland Community college in Normal, Illinois.
Ruth was a Sunday school teacher at Union Missionary Baptist Church, where she joined in 2004.
She worked for Eureka Williams as an assembler for 13 years, E.I. Dupont as a production associate for 11 years, Jackson Hewitt Tax Service as the Office Manager for several offices, which she enjoyed, and Caravan Knight Facilities at the Fort Wayne GM Plant as a cleaner until she retired.
Fort Wayne has been her home for the last 12 years. She enjoyed planting her flowers every Spring and Summer. Ruth loved her children and grandchildren immensely. She argued daily with her pet dog, Sophia Ann. Ruth would not think twice about helping others in need and being a listening ear for those that needed advice. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life by watching her favorite movies and having her grandson Desmond run her all over town searching for the perfect pots for her flowers and enjoying having teatime and mature conversations with her grandson, Fazhaun. She enjoyed visits and spending time with her youngest grandson Evan tracking his growth. Her determination and desire to see her children and grandchildren succeed were astounding.
Her children survive Ruth, Destinie Howard, and DeVaughn Kirksey, both of Fort Wayne, IN., grandchildren, Desmond Alston and Fazhaun Alston, both of Fort Wayne, IN, and Evan Kirksey of Houston, TX., siblings, Evelyn Howard, Marshall (Laverne) Howard, Freda Garland, Maggie (Halbert) Harris, Mae West Jackson, and Mable Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sib and Estella Howard, siblings, Calvin Howard, Michael Howard, Herman Howard, David Howard, and Peaches Howard, and one grandchild, Sah’eed Alston.
Memorial contributions may be left to Bloom Project Inc., (PO Box 12205, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46863) c/o Fazhaun Alston.

Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the memorial home
