El Paso - S. Ellen Marquardt, 97, of El Paso passed away at 3:58 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal.

Her funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with Rev. David Marquardt, her nephew, officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the memorial home.

Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. Memorials may be directed to the Miracle League of Central Illinois in honor of Brandon Leicht or to the donor's choice.

Ellen was born in Normal on February 28, 1922, a daughter to Carl E. and Sarah Emily (Bedel) Coon. She married Albert Marquardt on Decemeber 2, 1945 in Normal. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1990.

Surviving are her daughters, Jane (Jim) Bagnell and Mary (Alan) Leicht, both of El Paso; grandchildren, Brian (Rachel) Bagnell of Sugar Hill, GA, Elizabeth Bond of El Paso, Justin (Chasity Edwards) Leicht of Downs, and Brandon Leicht of El Paso; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers.

Ellen briefly worked for State Farm Insurance and later worked at Towanda Grain Elevator for 19 years as the bookkeeper. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed her ceramic work. As an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan, she always kept her stats book up to date on every Cardinal's game. She enjoyed her many trips with her husband. She loved all of her family and her cats. Ellen will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
