Samantha McDonald

Bloomington - Samantha Joy McDonald, 32, of Bloomington, passed away at 4:56 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington.

Samantha was born on September 9, 1987 in Des Moines, Iowa, a daughter to Sue Raube and Sam McDonald. Her dad called her ‘Sambo' and her mom called her ‘Baby Cakes'.

Surviving are her parents, Sue Raube of Deerfield, WI and Sam McDonald of Bloomington; a loving grandmother, Betty Schultz of Mankato, MN, a grandmother who would cry your tears and feel your pain; uncle Benny Natzke of Otsego, MN, who always made Samantha laugh whenever they were together; and best of all, two incredible, strong, beautiful, loving sisters, Tiffany Lindsey of Bloomington, they always had each other's backs, no matter what and Amy Johnson of San Antonio, TX, miles apart for many years, Amy was always in Samantha's heart; three nieces, Lily, Chloe and Joy, whom she adored and loved spending time with; and Jason Lynch, of Chicago, her partner in crime whom she lived with in Chicago for the past several years.

Samantha was a free spirit, her heart and soul were unique. Her passion for music and traveling, near and far to concerts, was incredible. She had a big love for unicorns; unicorn pajamas, shoes, shirts, headbands, everything unicorn, because they are beautiful, just like Samantha. She loved her childhood cat, Beagle cat, who she adored and loved to spoil.

Well Sambo, Baby Cakes, our hearts are broken and tears keep falling, but we know there is no pain now, only peace. You will live forever in our hearts. Samantha, you were the constant wind that filled our sails.
