Sandy was born on April 19, 1944 in Peoria Illinois a daughter to Robert and Eleanor Mitchell Zimmerman. She married David R. Jacobs on August 25, 1963 in Glasford, Illinois.

Surviving is her husband David Jacobs of Normal; two daughters, Josiane Jacobs of Bloomington and Nicole (Eric) Albertson of Normal; two granddaughters, Brianna Jacobs of Normal and Jhori Walker of Bloomington; two grandsons Jacob Albertson and Samuel Albertson both of Normal; a sister, Donna Duffield of Glasford; a brother, David Zimmerman of Banner, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Sandy grew up in Glasford, Illinois and graduated from Timber Township High School, Class of 1962. She worked several years at the Home Savings and Loan in Peoria, Illinois. She served two years alongside her husband in the United States Army at S.H.A.P.E. HDQ Mons Belgium.

She and David raised their family in Knoxville, Illinois where she served as church secretary for the Methodist Church of Knoxville. Sandy was a special education assistant in Knoxville School District #202. Most importantly, she was a "Mom". In her retirement beginning in 2003, her and her husband, David moved to Normal where she became a full-time "Mema".

Sandy was the original charter viewer of "The Day's of Our Lives" and an avid supporter of all of her grandchildren's sporting events and activities. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and a "personal friend" of Ron Santo. She was a VIP at HyVee and clipped and saved religiously.

She was a very active participant in the Advocate BroMenn Cardio Rehab where she adopted her second family. She will miss "her guys" at the BroMenn Valet who dropped everything and came running when she arrived for her appointments.

The family would like to thank, from the bottom of their hearts, the Advocate BroMenn Cardiac Staff for their care and compassion bestowed upon Sandy and her family as well as all of the BroMenn Hospital Staff.

Sandy's love of gardening will live on through her family. There will never be a more devoted or caring mother, wife, grandmother and she will be dearly and deeply missed!
