Shane McConnaughay

Bloomington - Shane Alan McConnaughay, 49, of Bloomington passed away at 10:08 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal. He helped to pass on the gift of life to others through organ and tissue donation.

Shane was born on January 26, 1969 in Bloomington, a son of Jim and Jan McConnell McConnaughay. After 17 years together, he married the love of his life, Emma Hollings on October 2, 2015 in Bloomington, Illinois.

Surviving is his wife, Emma McConnaughay of Bloomington; his mother, Jan (Walt) Clark of Normal; two brothers, Jamie McConnaughay of Pekin and Nathan (Jess) McConnaughay of Normal; stepchildren, Trent Hollings and Orlando Jones and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Shane loved the home he and Emma shared, caring for his plants and cooking for family and friends.

He was loved by many for his easy going spirit. Shane liked to make people laugh and always made life fun. He was a giving man and an animal lover of all kinds.

Shane was a loving man and will be missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be from 6:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the V.F.W. in Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be directed to Humane Society of Central Illinois. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
