Simonne Guillemont

Bloomington - Simonne C. Guillemont received her heavenly promotion September 19, 2017, with a close friend by her side at Heritage Health, Bloomington, Illinois, where she had been a resident for the past 10 years.

Her funeral will be at 11a.m., Friday at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. Friday prior to the funeral. Pastor Len Thebarge will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. immediately following the funeral.

Simmone was born July 23, 1925, in Vlamertinge, Belgium, to Frederick and Marta (Martha) Guillemont. She was predeceased by both her parents; two sisters (Madeline and Christiane) and four brothers, Cyril, Emil, Gerard and Roger. Simonne had several nieces and nephews.

Simonne's mother, Marta, came to the United States and later brought Simonne to live here. Simonne became an employee of Country Mutual Insurance Company in Chicago. When IAA and companies relocated to Bloomington in 1960, Simonne moved with the company where she worked until her retirement on June 28, 1990.

Simonne came to know the Lord and was baptized January 8, 1967, at Grace Baptist Church, Normal, IL. where she was still a member. Her faith was very important to her and she loved singing in the choir. Her lifestyle was a wonderful example to others.

Simonne was a very unique and lovely individual. She never had a driver's license nor owned a car. She walked almost everywhere. She had many dear and good friends and she will be greatly missed.
