Steven Schulz

Steven Paul Schulz, 55, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at his home.

Steve was born on July 19, 1966, in Madison, Wisconsin, son to Gerald and Kathleen (Gruenwald) Schulz.  He married Michelle Johnson on October 19, 1991 in Decatur.

Surviving are his wife, Michelle Schulz of Bloomington; children, Paul (Samantha) Schulz of Normal and Laurel (John) Bresette of Bloomington; mother, Kathleen Schulz of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; brother, Michael (Christine) Schulz and their children, Avery and Samuel, all of Hudson, Wisconsin; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father.

Steve received his degree from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1989.  He was employed at State Farm Insurance Company for 32 years.  Steve was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington where he served in various ways.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, running, doing yard work, flying kites and woodworking.  He was also an avid James Bond fan.  Camping with his family, especially in Door County, Wisconsin and Mackinaw City, Michigan, was one of his favorite things to do. Spending quality time with his family was something that he valued greatly as a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. Steve was kind and gentle, and always willing to help where he could.  To know Steve was to love Steve.  He will be greatly missed.

A private service is being held. Memorial contributions in Steve’s memory may be made to INtegRIty Counseling (integrityhelps.org/donate) or to Evangelical Free Church in Bloomington.
