Bloomington - Vera M. Willan, 95, of Bloomington, passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Heritage Health of Bloomington.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Calvary United Methodist Church in Normal with Rev. Sylvester Weatherall and Dr. Ray Owens officiating. A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to Calvary Methodist Church.

Vera was born on July 30, 1924 in Bloomington, a daughter to James and Lucille Wood. Vera Wood married Art Willan on April 5, 1942. They celebrated 65 years of marriage. Art, along with her two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Roy (Sue) Willan, Normal, Tom (Kathy) Willan, Bloomington, one daughter, Kay (Michael) Essig, Normal, a special niece Cheryl (Rod) Hayes, grandchildren Jan Locke, Angie (Monte) Ashworth, Beth Chitwood, Stephanie (Dave) Hoover, Steven Willan, Jim Willan, Kristin (Dennis) Grundler, Luci (Brock) Spencer, Kati Essig (deceased), Alli (Jake) Nord, great-grandchildren Drew, Lexi, Emily, Mitchell, Audrey, Nate, Elyse, Evelyn, Anson, Olivia, Lucas, Kyleigh, Jakob, Addyson, Zachary, Zander, Caroline, Amelia, Mikey, Ava, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Vera was a kind and friendly lady who had many friends throughout her lifetime. She attended Bloomington High School and graduated from Summers Beauty School in Bloomington. She owned and operated The Kozy Korner Beauty Shop in her home at 902 N. Linden St, Normal for many years. She considered all of her clients as her friends.

She was a member of Calvary Methodist Church and a former member of First Christian Church, Hands All Around Quilt Guild, and The American Passion Play. She was a gifted seamstress and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

A special thank you to Heritage Health and OSF Hospice for their kind and compassionate care given to Vera.
