Roberta Jumper, 87, of Bloomington, passed away at 4:34 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Bloomington with Rev.Toby Carlos, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington. The family requests memorial donations be made to the family in care of Deloris Jumper.
Roberta was born on September 5, 1934 in Bloomington, a daughter of John and Lorraine Thrope Caldwell. She married W.T. Jumper in Saginaw, MI. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1992.
Mother Roberta Jumper leaves to cherish her memories her children, James Jumper, Alonzo Jumper, Anita Jumper, Tommy (Sharron) Jumper, Timmy Jumper, Deloris Jumper, and Burton (Tookie) Perez, all of Bloomington; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and a sister, Lorabell (Wyatt) Davis of Bloomington. She is also survived by Rachel Wells Rusk and Carrie Handy, who were very dear to her heart, as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two children, Loraine Coleman and Joseph Jumper, a granddaughter, Krystal Coleman, and two brothers, George and Lee Caldwell.
Mother Roberta Jumper accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age. She lived a Christian life as a faithful servant to God. She was a dedicated member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where she served on the Mother’s Board. Roberta loved listening to church music and reading her bible. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her two special great grandchildren, Kyson and Kylie. She was a loving and giving person. She will be greatly missed.
